I Don’t Regret Marrying My Husband, I Will Be With Him Till The End-Woman Who Married Blind Man Says

BBC News Pidgin has just had an interview with a blind Kwara State-based businessman, Sheriff Toyin Bello, and his wife, Mariam, and they share their experiences and how they have managed to cope in life.

Mariam said when she wanted to marry her husband, people in her community(Offa) questioned her for wanting to marry a blind man, and she said they should leave her, adding that God exists.

She said wherever she’s going, she takes her husband with her.

Toyin(her husband) said it was his brother that introduced her to him and when they met, he asked if she can marry him and she said Yes.

He said one of his eyes got paralyzed in 2015, adding that he has been blind for 7 years. He said he doesn’t know if his wife is fine because he can’t see her but his sister has told him that she’s fine.

Toyin said he does a soapmaking business for a living, and he always gives his wife money to help him buy the soap materials. He noted that his wife is a sincere woman, adding that whenever he gives her money, she always tells him the amount and gives him back his balance(money).

Furthermore, his wife said she never regretted getting married to him and will be with him forever. In conclusion, she said, the only thing she wants is for God to bless her husband.
